“Coming Back Around” Piano Solo

Here is the end to the film proper, only without the memorable last bit. As far as I can remember, the end of the partial score marks the end of the film. The epic alla marcia reprise that followed showed up only later in the end credits.

In the spirit of keeping the best part from being published, I cut off what may have been my craziest take on the “Test Drive” theme. Below is a snapshot. Comparing this with the piano solo in “Where’s Hiccup?”, you can see how John Powell uses a single theme over a vast dynamic range.

If you’re dying for the full length arrangement of “Coming Back Around”, I present to you Artur Unger. To my knowledge, he is the only other musician out there to have ever tackled the task. Check out his other HtTYD arrangements as well.
